Real Life - Told by SF seniors

Join us for an evening of learning and listening at Adobe Books!

My Life, My Stories is a local non-profit that preserves the life legacies of seniors in our community. We match a volunteer with one senior, and over the course of several months, the senior's memories are recorded and transcribed into memoirs. We focus on helping underserved populations in the Bay Area including minorities, immigrants, and LGBTQ.

Over the past year, we've listened to inspiring, heartbreaking, and touching stories that, otherwise, would have been left untold and lost forever. It's time to give these seniors a public platform to share their amazing memories with others in a live event.

The evening's theme is focused around the question, "What brought you to San Francisco?" Most of us, including the elderly we meet, are not SF natives, but we were all drawn to this amazing city for one reason or another.

Join us to hear about what it was like for our authors to move to San Francisco from around the world in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. You may be surprised with what you learn and how much you can relate to someone who may be decades older than you.

This event will be free but donations to MLMS will be accepted throughout the night.
