Barbara Nerness is many things, but foremost an artist, researcher, and composer. Currently, she is working toward a PhD at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford University. She holds a Masters in Music, Science, and Technology from Stanford and a BA in Mathematics from UC Berkeley. Her research lies at the intersection of neuroscience, improvisation, and interface design. Recent performances and exhibitions have taken place at BAM in NY, ZKM in Karlsruhe, and C4NM in San Francisco, among others. barbaranerness.com

Stephanie Sherriff is an interdisciplinary media artist currently based in San Francisco, California. Her work with sound, video, and plants is ephemeral in nature and culminates as time-based installations and performances that deconstruct familiar fragments of daily life through experimental processes. She received a BA from San Francisco State University in 2014 and an MFA in Art Practice from Stanford University in 2019, where she holds a position as lecturer in both the Music Department and the Art & Art History Department. Her work has been shown at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York, the Sfendoni Theater in Athens, Greece, and a diverse range of cultural organizations across the Bay Area.

join for the first time as a trio. The group will explore parallel sound spheres as they navigate between acoustic and electronic timbres.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Rodolfo CΓ³rdova is a composer, vocalist, and improviser. Their music fuses diverse influences with electronic media, chance operations, gradual processes, noise, improvisation, extended vocal and timbral techniques of composition.

Kris Force is a electroacoustic composer, performer and visual artist living and working in the San Francisco bay area and exhibiting and performing internationally. Force works across several mediums including music, sound, drawing, painting, performance, photography, video and new media. Predominant themes in her work include embodiment, materiality and remediation.

John Ivers is a composer and improviser exploring hybrid creative practices. Ivers engages intimate sonic textures, unique improvisational voices, and dynamic musical structures to unravel traditional composer-performer relationships.
