Poetry films have a long and storied connection to San Francisco. They are a subgenre of film that fuses the use of spoken word poetry, visual images, and sound to create a stronger presentation and interpretation of the meaning of the work. As the kick-off event for our new monthly “Rumble” poetry reading series we are excited to be hosting poetry filmmakers Marc Zegans and Sarah Tremlett. Marc will be reading from his new brand collection of poems, Lyon Street and Sarah, author of one of the definitive scholarly work about poetry, The Poetics of Poetry Film will be reading and walking us through the magic of poetry films.
